Booksellers, magic, history, mythology, the 1980s, London, art, architecture…this book truly has an embarrassment of riches. Thoroughly entertaining!
Enjoyed this a bit more than the first but was still disappointed overall. I feel like the feeling of plot armor is super transparent here, and the plot retraced many of the steps from the first book.
Interesting to read the original book was supposed to be a standalone novel. Like I say I'll probably check out the third, but I wouldn't recommend this series to adult readers of Nix.

Es passieren wieder mystische Dinge und die Protagonist*innen müssen sich mit einer Gefahr auseinandersetzen. Insgesamt wirkt es, als hätte jemand dem Autor gesagt "Schreib das gleiche noch mal!" Ein Handlungstrang wird am Ende mit einem Handwedeln in die ferne Zukunft vertragt - weiß Gott warum. Ansonsten ist es aber durchaus Lesenswerte, urbane Fantasy.
